This is why I'm broke.
Okay, here goes Attempt #2 Attempt #3 Attempt #4 at writing this entry because the first time
I accidentally pressed back and it went to the previous page and I
didn't save my entry beforehand, the second time my connection timed out because Vox likes being a jerk apparently, and the third time I accidentally clicked on one of the pictures in my entry while I was writing and it brought me to my journal again. Wtf.
Anyway, before I break my computer and toss it out the window into the snow... I bought some Christmas presents for myself before I left for San Diego
on winter break, but my stuff didn't come in until I had already left
so I didn't get to post about it and remind myself that I've got $10 in my wallet
now and I probably shouldn't be buying things.
I was expecting really crappy pictures for some reason, but the photos inside are really nice. There are some pages that have a lot of empty space though (they put small images on it instead of larger ones, probably more for the design aspect of the book than anything). I like how the boys look in this one though :D Ryeowook especially, which is quite a surprise but his hair is awesome lol.
The calendar is pretty nice, too. I usually never buy myself a calendar because I don't bother with it, but if it has Super Junior on it maybe I'll start actually paying attention to what day it is lol. It even has little notes on the members' birthdays, just in case you're not as much of a stalker as some fans are and/or you're really bad at remembering birthdays in general (the latter applies to me). It's kind of big though... But the cool thing is that it gives you choices between two different pictures to use for a specific month. There's a black and white photo and then a colored photo on the next page, so you can turn the calendar around depending on which one you want to look at :) I was wondering why the calendar started on December, but then I remembered that there's 13 members in Super Junior, so there would have to be 13 months on the calendar.
The inner booklet has pictures of each of the members, and a separate quote from each of them, although I don't know what it means.
The only problem I have with it is that I don't like Tukutz's hair (it's the same as in their "1분 1초" MV. But I still love him lol. I'm really glad that there's more pictures in this release. Pieces, Part One had pictures, but most of them were resized smaller. In LOVESCREAM's booklet, the pictures are the size of case and the lyrics are at the very end in single paragraphs.
The last thing I bought was a Zombie-Loan artbook :) Yeah, I know. I'm a nerd. Leave me alone. But I like this seriies and they had Shito and Chika on the cover so I couldn't help myself lol. There are a lot of pictures I'm thinking of scanning later to make layouts out of, unless someone in a ZL community somewhere has already scanned them. I bought this at that anime/manga store by Mission Valley mall. They had a Samurai Champloo artbook which I was thinking of getting, but the second time I went there it was gone :( so I got this one instead. I love this series, so even though there are some pictures that aren't as good as the others, the biased side of my brain (a.k.a. the fangirl part) doesn't really care. I just bought it for the Shito and Chika pictures anyway. Uh. Sorry, Michiru fans.
The total of everything (including the artbook) was around $100, including S&H for the first two items since I bought them from Yesasia. The S&H for them was free though, but I also got a LOVESCREAM poster (lol, again, leave me alone) and that cost $5.99 to ship since the people at Yesasia don't let the free shipping and handling thing apply to posters, which kind of sucks but I really wanted an Epik High poster haha. I forgot to take pictures of it, but they have a preview of it on Yesasia anyway.
I'm happy with the stuff I bought, even though I'm kind of broke right now, but I'm going to try not thinking about that for awhile XD
